Our telephone befriending is a friendly service for lonely isolated, newly arrived members of the community; as well as people living with chronic health and aims to provide emotional support. We match an individual with a trained befriender who will provide support through weekly conversations on the phone for up to half an hour.
Over time; befriending has been known to improve mental health and wellbeing; as well as help individuals to achieve greater self-confidence and independence.
This service is provided through Live Chat and run by trained and experienced peer mentors who use a range of different languages and translators where required.
*Chronic health here is defined as any health condition that requires ongoing medical attention and, or any health condition that limits the activities of daily living.
